A one-rack-unit headend

The Luminato 4H receives satellite, terrestrial, cable, and IP signals. It's built for hospitality networks: hotels, ships, campuses, and hospitals that need a compact yet versatile solution. It's assembled by combining modules according to the incoming sources, and it grows one module at a time.

The signal travels over the existing installation

The modulator takes the IP and ASI sources from the headend and converts them into RF output over the coaxial cable network the hotel already has in place. The modulation standard is chosen by software, so it adapts to whatever is deployed without changing the hardware.

The guest sees the hotel's brand

The platform is 100% white-label: the logo, colors, and screens are applied from the back office, without writing a single line of code. It reaches Smart TVs, streaming devices, mobile, and web, and the set-top box catalog covers everything from the simplest access device to certified Android TV.

How it's built on the inside

Architecture and standards
Headend
Captures TV signals and transcodes them to IP. Encoders convert the signal into a data stream, and transcoders adapt format and bit rate to each guest's device.
Middleware
Manages and delivers content to the in-room devices, and defines what each one can see.
CMS
Where the hotel uploads and organizes the on-demand catalog, live programming, and its own in-house content.
DRM
End-to-end content protection, a requirement from studios and content providers to enable their material.
Network
Distribution over LAN and WLAN within the building.

Turnkey

Site survey

Understanding what the hotel needs and the current state of its installation. Network design with the bandwidth required, and equipment selection based on how much it needs to grow.

Installing the headend with its servers and encoding equipment, configuring the middleware and the CMS with the hotel's interface, and integrating the DRM.

Pilot and tuning

Rollout in a limited number of rooms to catch and resolve issues before scaling, and network and server optimization based on the results.
